Engagement

     Invest sustainably,
     create social value

As an independent wealth manager, we believe that human values, personal relationships, and sound management performance are the foundation of our successful business development. Like many of our clients, we are passionate about giving back to the vulnerable in society.

That is why our clients and we invest part of the income generated by the «Social Responsibility Fund» in social projects that support the UN Sustainable Development Goals of «poverty reduction» and «health care».

«The idea was to develop a financial instrument that combines sustainable wealth creation with added value for society».

With the idea to develop a financial instrument that combines sustainable wealth creation with added value for society, advisors and clients of Colin&Cie and representatives of the Red Cross came together in autumn 2018. A few months later, the «Social Responsibility Fund» designed by Colin&Cie was launched. To date, a total of 1,480,000 Swiss francs has been invested by Colin&Cie with its clients and employees in different aid projects.

Colin&Cie employees are involved in the selection of suitable projects at an early stage and act as project mentors. They regularly exchange ideas with those responsible on site and monitor the progress of the projects. Colin&Cie's clients benefit from both attractive financial returns and measurable social impact on their sustainable investments. They also have a say in which project areas should be given priority in an annual survey. Colin&Cie itself ensures ongoing monitoring, reporting and maximum cost efficiency.

The distribution amount for the 2025/26 period, totalling 330,000 Swiss francs, flows in several projects run by aid organisations in the regions where Colin&Cie is based as well as to the Swiss Red Cross in Bern. We are pleased to present the various projects to you below.

30,000 Swiss francs for «Apprenticeship support»
An increasing number of apprentices are dropping out of their training programmes - a trend that raises serious concerns. The reasons are manifold, but the consequences are clear: individuals without vocational qualifications often face long-term unemployment, low-paying jobs, and a greater risk of dependence on social welfare. Preventing dropouts is therefore essential. Professional coaches support apprentices during their training and help them with psychosocial, personal and academic difficulties. This enables them to obtain a qualified vocational qualification and make a successful start towards financial independence.

The cheque was handed over by project mentor Roland Gerritsen, Partner at Colin&Cie Zurich, to Ester Maranta, Project manager at the Swiss Red Cross, Canton Zurich.

30,000 Swiss francs for the project «Duo»
Nowadays, many older people live alone. They often feel lonely and overwhelmed when it comes to coping with certain tasks. The Red Cross’s «Duo» project pairs them with a dedicated companion who helps in daily life — whether with household tasks, shopping, administrative matters, or simply by sharing a friendly conversation over a cup of coffee. Regular meetings improve quality of life and bring joy, which in turn promotes the mental health of older people.

The cheque was handed by project mentor Ursula Hug-Felix (on the left), Partner at Colin&Cie Zurich, to Manuela Frenjo, Chair of the Executive Board at the Swiss Red Cross, Canton Zurich.

30,000 Swiss francs for «Employment perspectives»
The project is a mentoring programme for recognised refugees. Volunteers from the Swiss Red Cross assist participants in finding training opportunities and employment, while also helping them improve their language, reading, and writing skills. Thanks to this support, the refugees are better able to integrate into society and lead independent lives without financial assistance.

The cheque was handed by project mentor Dominic Droz, Partner at Colin&Cie Zurich, to Anna Bossart, Head of Integration at the Swiss Red Cross, Canton Zurich.

30,000 Swiss francs for the «SRC Transport Service»
This service gives people with limited mobility greater independence and enjoyment in their everyday lives. When public transport is not an option and there is no one in their personal circle who can help, the «Red Cross Transport Service» ensures safe mobility. Volunteer drivers use their own cars to reliably take those affected to the doctor, hospital or therapy appointment – and pick them up again afterwards.

30,000 Swiss francs for the project «Falafel»
The project promotes integration and health among unaccompanied young asylum seekers. The refugees cook and eat together with volunteers from the Youth Red Cross. The focus is not only on interaction at the dinner table, but also on practical everyday skills: participants learn how to use their shopping budget wisely and maintain a balanced and healthy diet. At the same time, the project raises awareness of mindful and environmentally friendly food consumption.

30,000 Swiss francs for the «Summer camps»
The Centro Insieme is an extracurricular centre that offers learning support and activities for children aged 6 to 12. Its main objective is to support local families by promoting literacy, social cohesion and intercultural integration. Most of the children come from socially disadvantaged families with economic difficulties, a migrant background or special educational needs. The «summer camps» ensure that childcare is also provided during the summer months.

30,000 euros for project «children's hospice work»
A new children's hospice will open in Trier, Rhineland-Palatinate, not far from the German-Luxembourg border, in 2026. Funds from the «Social Responsibility Fund» will be used to set up a a coordination center in Luxembourg to assist families of children and adolescents with life-limiting illnesses. The center will provide information about available inpatient care options and help families in the Grand Duchy access the new hospice facility in Germany — ensuring that seriously ill children receive the support and comfort they need, regardless of national borders.

Chief physician Dr Johannes Bettscheider explains: «The number of women diagnosed with breast cancer is steadily increasing – one in eight women will be affected during their lifetime. As the second-largest centre for breast cancer treatment in south-west Germany, it is our mission to continue to provide patients with the best possible individual care. We will therefore use the funding to design and equip an additional therapy room.»
