Social responsibility – donations and projects 2025

Thanks to the support of our customers, Colin&Cie's project sponsors have been able to donate a total of CHF 330,000 from the Social Responsibility Fund to eight aid organisations in three countries over the past few weeks. The photographic review of the donation handover and the outlook for the nine supported projects show the gratitude for the support and the perspectives it makes possible.

Swiss Red Cross Zurich

The funding amount of 90,000 Swiss francs will be divided equally among three projects that support different target groups. In the «Duo» project, senior citizens with limited mobility receive help in everyday life – for example, with housework, shopping and leisure activities. The «Perspective Work» mentoring programme supports refugees in finding training and work opportunities and in improving their reading, spelling and language skills. In the «Teaching Support» project, socially disadvantaged young people are accompanied by coaches during their apprenticeships to prevent them from dropping out and to help them obtain professional qualifications.

Swiss Red Cross Schaffhausen

30,000 Swiss francs will be used to support the «Falafel» project, which promotes integration and health among unaccompanied minor asylum seekers. The young people cook and eat together with volunteers from the Youth Red Cross. The focus is not only on interaction at the dinner table, but also on practical everyday skills: participants learn how to use their shopping budget wisely and maintain a balanced and healthy diet. At the same time, the project raises awareness of mindful and environmentally friendly food consumption.

Swiss Red Cross Ticino

30,000 Swiss francs will be donated to support the Centro Insieme's project «Summer Campus». The Centro Insieme is an extracurricular centre that offers learning support and activities for children aged 6 to 12. Its main objective is to support local families by promoting literacy, social cohesion and intercultural integration. Most of the children come from socially disadvantaged families with economic difficulties, a migrant background or special educational needs. The summer campus ensures that childcare is also provided during the summer months.

Swiss Red Cross Zug

The «Red Cross Transport Service» project is being supported with 30,000 Swiss francs. This service gives people with limited mobility greater independence and enjoyment in their everyday lives. When public transport is not an option and there is no one in their personal circle who can help, the Red Cross Transport Service ensures safe mobility. Volunteer drivers use their own cars to reliably take those affected to the doctor, hospital or therapy appointment – and pick them up again afterwards.

German Red Cross Hospital Saarlouis

The project «Optimising Care for Cancer Patients» is being supported with 30,000 euros. Chief Physician Dr Johannes Bettscheider explains: «The number of women diagnosed with breast cancer is steadily increasing – one in eight women will be affected during their lifetime. As the second-largest centre for breast cancer treatment in south-west Germany, it is our mission to continue to provide patients with the best possible individual care. We will therefore use the funding to design and equip an additional therapy room.»

German Red Cross Trier-Saarburg

The project «E-mobility in outpatient care» is being supported with 30,000 euros. The GRC social station in Konz will receive an electric vehicle along with the necessary charging infrastructure. The aim of the project is to test the practicality of an electric car in rural outpatient care and to gather initial experience regarding range, charging times and cost-efficiency. At the same time, the project is contributing to climate protection by reducing local emissions and preparing for the gradual conversion of the vehicle fleet to alternative drive technologies.

nestwärme Luxembourg

The «Cross-border Children's Hospice Work» project is being supported with 30,000 euros. A new children's hospice will open in Trier, Rhineland-Palatinate, not far from the German-Luxembourg border, in mid-2026. The funding will be used to set up a coordination centre in Luxembourg to inform families of children and young people with life-shortening illnesses in the Grand Duchy about inpatient care structures and to facilitate the admission into the children's hospice in Germany.

Swiss Red Cross Head Office Bern

As part of the strategic partnership, Colin&Cie transfer 70,000 Swiss francs from the fund's administrative commission to the Swiss Red Cross headquarters in Bern as an unrestricted donation. The funds may be used, for example, for disaster relief or other urgent emergency aid operations.
