After successfully completing his banking apprenticeship in 1993, Urs Walder quickly found his way into private banking at Swiss Bank Corporation, where he worked as a client advisor for several years. After taking a break to study business administration and working for a large strategy-consulting firm, Urs resumed his professional career in private banking at Credit Suisse in 2004. There, he played a key role in developing the product and service offering for the German market and, after moving internally to global product management, supported various large cross-border projects. In 2013, Urs returned to client advisory services as Chief of Staff for Private Banking for the Lucerne, Obwalden and Nidwalden market area and has spent the last ten years as head of heading a private banking team at Credit Suisse in Zug.

Urs explains his reasons for the move: "My passion lies in combining asset management and financial markets in line with the individual needs of each client. What particularly impressed me about Colin&Cie was the goal-oriented, independent and holistic approach to consulting, the personal responsibility of the employees and the family atmosphere. In my new position, I will be able to make the most of my strengths."

Thomas Warnecke also believes that Urs Walder is the right person for the job: "Regarding the development of our advisory and investment process and our brand strategy, we were looking for a manager with strategic skills in private banking who can shape both the client business and the processes behind it. Urs‘s profound expertise and distinct social skills are an ideal addition to strengthen our holistic client consulting services and asset management. He will be responsible for wealth planning, investment office, communications and event management in the newly created ‘Centre of Competence’, where he will have an impact with his experience, expertise and innovative strength."

Urs Walder lives with his partner and their son in Thalwil, a municipality on the western shore of Lake Zurich. Exercise has always been an important part of his work-life balance. Urs is a passionate mountain biker and an enthusiastic ice hockey player and junior coach. His favourite travel destinations include southern Africa.

We wish Urs a successful start in his new role at Colin&Cie.
